Our History
A family tradition, an elegance born from the earth, the sea, and skilled hands.
Our story smells of leather, salt, and sunshine.
It all began in 1960, amidst the white streets and blue skylines of Positano, with a man, Carmine Ruocco, and his passion for crafting shoes and sandals. A craft of precision, patience, and vision. An art he generously passed down to his son Vincenzo, and which today lives on through the hands and heart of Lorenzo, the third generation of the family.
Nanà, the creative soul of the brand, has embraced this legacy, transforming it into a project that combines design, tailoring, and human warmth. Each model is designed by her and comes to life through collaboration with the best Italian artisan workshops. Nothing is left to chance: from the soles to the jeweled details, every element is chosen and crafted with the care and respect that well-made items deserve.
And then there's you, choosing the color of the stones, witnessing the assembly of your jeweled sandal, actively participating in that magic. Because every creation is designed to be unique. Just like you.
The essence of Italian craftsmanship, every detail is a declaration of love for the trade.
It all starts with the material.
We select top-quality natural leather from the best tanneries in Tuscany, free of chemical treatments, with veins and small imperfections that speak to its authenticity. This leather is used to mold the soles, which are then cut and hand-stitched in a historic sole factory in Campania.
For the upper, we only use genuine calf leather, also from Tuscany. Nanà prefers the satin version: slightly sparkling, soft, and shiny, to give the sandals a refined and light touch, like summer itself.
The jeweled details, on the other hand, are true miniature works of art. Made of brass, they are hand-soldered by master Neapolitan artisans, stone by stone, creating unique and harmonious designs. The plating – gold or silver – is entrusted to one of the best galvanizing facilities in Vicenza, specialized in hypoallergenic and long-lasting treatments.

Handmade, Tailored Just for You: Each sandal is handcrafted to order. After your purchase, we’ll ask for a few photos of your foot so we can tailor it to your exact measurements. Because it’s created exclusively for you, we do not offer refunds.
Perfect Fit Guarantee: Too loose or too tight? No problem. We offer free alterations to adjust the fit to your foot by adjusting the straps only, until the fit is perfect.
Easy Returns Within 14 Days: We accept exchanges for items that are intact, have never been worn outdoors, and have no customizations. Home exchange costs €15; the courier will deliver the new sandal and pick up the return at the same time (cash payment to the courier). For self-shipped returns, please send the item to our headquarters in Positano, including €10 in the package to cover return shipping costs.

Shipping times: all products are created after your order to give your product a handcrafted and unique look. Regular shipping for products in stock is normally carried out within 1-5 days (Italy). Express shipping provides delivery within 1-3 days. All shipments are made via insured courier to guarantee your purchases as much as possible. Minor mishaps can extend delivery times by a maximum of 24 hours. But in these cases, you can always track your order from your account.
Any customs duties and charges applied in the destination country are entirely at the buyer's expense.
How to track your shipment: to follow your shipment step by step, we have several free services available for our customers. You can track your package through your customer account on our website or simply via the email you used to place the order (provided the email address is valid) or even via SMS (provided the phone number is valid). This last service is only available for Italy.
Returns and refunds will not be made for CUSTOMIZED models upon request, and for no unjustified taste reason.

All Nanà Positano sandals are entirely customizable, in structure, colors and you can add your initials to the sole if you like.
The sole, in high quality genuine leather, is strictly from Tuscany as per the attached certification. Our goal is to always guarantee you maximum satisfaction.
